I am back in Minnesota now, but I thought I would go back and explain a little bit more about my trip. I have an abundance of internet now, unlike when I was in Europe, so I can take my time and really tell some good stories.
I first visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was just like I thought it was going to be! Very CROOKED! I didn't get a chance to go up in the tower. Apparently, you need reservations, which I did not have. Oh, well. Check out the cool picture of me trying to hold it up!
After about an hour or so, I headed down to the Cinque Terre (Five Lands). This was definitely one of my favorite places. It is located on the western Italian Riviera (right on the ocean. Most people take a train to the Cinque Terre, but you can get there by car.
As soon as I got off the train, I was immediately hit with the scent of salty sea air. The ocean was a beautiful blue/green color and full of white waves rolling in.
The thing to do in the Cinque Terra is to go for a hike along the trails that lead from town to town. I started in Riomaggiorre and hiked all the way to the 4th town Manarolo. It was QUITE A HIKE! I felt like I was climbing the Himilayas!
All in all it was a great trip. Stay tuned for more pictures of Rome!
